VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - $10,000 is now being offered by the family of a Valdosta murder victim in hopes of solving the case.
Valdosta Police say at about 11:45pm on June 5, 2015, Marquivius Brockington was robbed by two men and murdered at a home on Fortress Circle. They say one of the men confronted Brockington's friend or girlfriend in the driveway, he had his face covered and fired a round. She wasn't hurt.
Ever since then, police have been following leads. They say they do have some persons of interest.
According to Police Chief Brian Childress, just last week, Brockington's family contacted them about a reward.
"They have collectively raised $10,000," said Chief Childress. "They approached us since the murder took place in June. They wanted to put this reward to spark some additional leads."
The reward is for an arrest and conviction. Anyone with information is urged to call Valdosta Police at (229) 242-2606.
