TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)--Friends and family say goodbye to an airman killed in a motorcycle crash.
A funeral was held for 26-year old Russell Mountain Friday morning at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. He was buried with full military honors.
He had joined the air force in 2010 and had just returned home from a six-month deployment in Afghanistan.
We spoke with Mountain's uncle.
"There's no way to put words on how said that is, it's like a gut punch that you just don't recover from," said Frank Mix."You know he was two blocks from home, two blocks from safety, two blocks from having the rest of his life."
Police say he was riding the motorcycle and collided with a Toyota Corolla August 22.
It happened at the intersection of Thomasville Road and Woodgate Way.
