Family and friends remember a Valdosta DJ killed one year ago

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)--Holding a candlelight vigil for her husband is something Hilda Edgerton never would've imagined she would have to do

"Imagine waking up and then daddy's there, husbands there and then abruptly you're told he's just gone," said Edgerton.

Its been one year since Stephon Edgerton was shot and killed outside of this radio station after work Edgerton was known on v-96 as Dj Juan Gatti.

Deputies say a man walked up and shot him three times.

"To know somebody did what they did and they're still walking around living their life, it upsets me really really bad," said Hilda Edgerton.

About 100 people gathered at the radio station sang song, dropped messages into the memorial site where a tree is buried to remember Edgerton in the spot the family says he was gunned down. But no arrests have been made.

"It hurts, you know you want to give closure to your kids. Its not going to bring him back, but I sure would feel a lot better I'm trying to choose my words carefully that justice is served to the person who took his life."

Edgerton leaves behind three kids--including his oldest daughter Mia.
