TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Adopting a child is a special moment for any family.
As WTXL ABC 27's Blake Levine shows us, adopting a child on Christmas Day is the ultimate gift.
Three local families adopted a child, receiving what they described as the greatest gift parents could ever get, a new member of their families.
This is the second year Big Bend Community Based Care has hosted a Christmas day Adoption Ceremony.
A permanency specialist with the care center, Kathy Donofro, says this is the only official adoption ceremony with a judge on Christmas in Florida.
"This is a miracle for them and to have it on a day that is being celebrated by the whole country and have that child and have that child be yours," Donofro said.
The new families' plans after the adoption include finishing cooking holiday meals, visiting family and gathering gifts.
