TALLAHASSEE, FLA. (WTXL) - A homeless shelter will open in Tallahassee this week after months of construction. The new Comprehensive Emergency services center will open its doors in just a few days.
Chuck White, the director of the Comprehensive Emergency Services Center says, "It's been an awesome undertaking, we all in life look for success and this is about meaning. it's about doing something significant on behalf of our community and the folks that we serve."
The City of Tallahassee, along with the Big Bend Homeless coalition, The Shelter, The Renaissance Center, The United Way of the big bend, and others have partnered to create the facility. The grand opening ceremony will be at 11am on thursday.
