TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - With a potential tropical storm forecast predicted to hit later, bug experts and emergency managers have reminded residents to quickly remove any standing water.
A lot of rain is expected with the forecast and scientists said getting rid of potential mosquito breeding grounds will help prevent the spread of the bugs.
Chris Uejio, an FSU expert who studies diseases, said that even though all mosquitoes lay eggs in standing water, those that cause Zika are especially fond of man-made containers.
There are 43 locally contracted Zika infections.
