TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Is your child having trouble paying attention? It may be due to the amount of screen time they are getting.

Local mental health experts say children using smart phones and other devices with screens can affect a child's attention span.

Experts also say limiting screen time can be effective.

"I believe limiting time would be effective. Obviously, each person is different  and it's a matter of adopting some sort of organizational situation that fits that particular person's needs," said Randall Vickers, the president of Solution Skills Educational Services. "I think that the students themselves will admit sometimes they're to connected with their phones."

According to recent study by Apple, iPhone users unlock their phones 80 times per day.
