TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Wild fires have been raging across the country including areas in Florida and Georgia for months.
Experts are warning people about the disruptive nature drones can have on relief efforts.
They say, air attacks are a critical component when it comes to trying to contain a wildfire. However, if an unauthorized drone is spotted above the fire all air traffic is grounded.
It not only slows the efforts down, but can be dangerous for those on the ground and the person flying the drone.
But drones can be beneficial to officials when they're used in the correct situations.
Experts say they must be coordinated with the organization that's dealing with the emergency.
