TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - It was a celebration of all Asian cultures Saturday right here in Tallahassee.
WTXL is proud to partner with Experience Asia for this annual display of diversity.
The festival is focused on bringing together the many cultures throughout Asia. Bloxham and Lewis Park is filled with performances, food, and activities for the whole family to enjoy.
It's the 14th year this festival has made its way to the Big Bend. The Asian Coalition of Tallahassee hosted the 2018 Experience Asia Festival once again.
Attendees got a chance to try all types of Asian food, watch special dance performances, and enjoy other activities, such as painting.
Organizers hope this gives people a chance to learn and interact with cultures that are already a part of the greater Big Bend community.
"We just really want to highlight and promote the Asian cultures that exist in the City of Tallahassee, which is growing really really fast," said Clyde Diao, Board of Directors for Asian Asian Coalition of Tallahassee.
Hundreds of people gathered downtown. For some attendees, this is an annual tradition. The overall atmosphere of the festival is what keeps them coming back.
"The energy and seeing the representation of all the different community groups and organizations. and seeing people come together," said Leigh-Ann Bauer, festival attendee. "The performances and the food is always amazing. It's a great event for the whole community."
This once a year event is something everyone looks forward to. Organizers say it’s an opportunity to promote diversity within the community.
