TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) The man convicted of kidnapping, raping, and murdering his ex-girlfriend's 11-year-old daughter is scheduled for execution.

Governor Rick Scott has signed the death warrant for Eddie Wayne Davis, in the murder of Kimberly Waters.   The execution will be carried out July 10.

Davis broke into his ex-girlfriend's Polk County home on March 4, 1994.  He found Kimberly sleeping, then kidnapped, raped, and eventually killed her.

Davis later confessed to the crime, after DNA evidence linked him to the murder.
