Escaped Inmate Nabbed in Florida

PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) - Authorities caught an inmate who had escaped a prison transport van during a stop on Interstate-10 over the weekend.

The inmate, John Wesley Saatio, was nabbed Sunday night when a caller told authorities of suspicious person wandering along a roadway in Milton. The Pensacola News (http://on.pnj.com/29cgj5B ) Journal reported that deputies and a K-9 unit tracked the inmate through a large field and several creeks before finding him in a thicket of bushes.

He was found with a tarp, a hammer, a water jug, and a pair of wire cutters. He was transported to the Santa Rosa County Jail. In searching him, authorities found two concealed handcuff keys in his sock. They keys were used to pick the locks on his restraint.
