THOMASVILLE, GA (WTXL) - A restaurant employee caught two men in the act of stealing fish from a freezer.

According to Thomasville Police, Matthew B. Maines, an employee at Jonah's Fish and Grits, found the men trying to steal food from the freezers in the back shed.

Police say that Maines was making his rounds before leaving for the night, and that's when he found the men. According to police, Maines stood there, unsure if the men had weapons, and then, the men ran towards Jefferson Street.

According to the report, Maines described the men as two possibly black males in their mid-twenties - one wearing a large gray sweatshirt and the other wearing a dark colored sweatshirt. Maines said that both of their faces were covered.

Police say that the owner was contacted and was able to provide video surveillance.

According to police, the stolen and recovered items include five bags of grouper, six bags of mac and cheese, two bags of chicken, and sixteen fillets of catfish.
