DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — The alma mater of a Virginia police officer who was fatally shot on her first day on the job is holding a memorial service for her.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida says it's holding a service for Ashley Guindon next Tuesday. Guindon earned a bachelor's degree in aeronautics at the school.

She was killed in February while responding to a domestic dispute at a home in Woodbridge, Virginia. It was her first day with the Prince William County Police Department.

An Army staff sergeant assigned to the Pentagon was arrested on murder and other charges in the death of Guindon and another person.
