Elks Aidmore, Inc. is a nonprofit agency whose purpose is to aid children and families in crisis. They recently opened an office in Valdosta, and are looking for individuals or couples that may be interested in becoming specially trained foster parents so that the demand for Specialized (therapeutic) homes can be significantly reduced.

Their main office is located in Conyers, Georgia and provides a wide variety of services and programs for numerous children and families in the area.  One of those programs is their Therapeutic Foster Care program which places children in foster care, ages 4-17, who have emotional and/or behavioral difficulties into homes with specially trained foster parents.  "It is different than basic foster care in that the program is designed to meet the individual needs of each child and help them learn to function successfully in the community" says Amber Walker, a Family Consultant/Recruiter for Elks Aidmore, Inc.

Walker adds, "Elks Aidmore recently opened our first satellite office in Valdosta to expand our Therapeutic Foster Care services and Community-Based Alternatives for youth due to the huge demand of children in foster care with specialized needs and few services/places to turn to."
