Wakulla County (WTXL) - A Wakulla County student hid an 11.5 inch knife blade inside of his backpack. The 12-year-old boy said he wasn't going to hurt anyone, he just wanted to scare a student who he claimed was bullying him.

The incident occurred at  Shadeville Elementary School in Wakulla County.  The young boy placed the knife blade inside of a school book in his bag. Students who saw the knife reported the boy to the Resource Officer. He was immediately suspended for 10 days and the school board has decided to expel him for the remainder of the year.

The young boy's father said he does not condone his son's actions and understands any punishment he that his son receives. The father is concerned with how the school is handling the bullying issue. He claims that the school is hiding these bullying issues; and that if the school continue to ignore these incidents, bullying will keep happening.

The school superintendent, Robert Pierce says they take bullying very seriously. The district does have programs in place to stop bullying, but they have no comment about this particular case as it is an ongoing investigation.
