TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Firefighters responded to a house fire on West 5th Avenue Monday afternoon.
Monday, around 3:36 p.m., the Tallahassee Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 600 block of West 5th Avenue.
Firefighters arrived within five minutes and saw smoke coming from a single story house. When crews forced their way inside the home, they found a large amount of fire.
They worked quickly to extinguish the blaze, preventing it from spreading inside the home. While crews were dealing with the fire, other firefighters searched the home, making sure no one was still inside.
TFD says an electrical issue caused the fire. No injuries were reported and damages are estimated to be at $25,000.
The Red Cross was called in to assist the two adults that were living in the residence.
