Electrical Fire at Tallahassee Home Costs Residents $60,000 in Damages

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Firefighters say that a Thursday night electrical fire cost residents $60,000 in damages to their home on Bahama Drive. 

At 8:00 p.m. on Thursday night, Tallahassee Firefighters were notified of a structure fire in the 800 block of Bahama Drive on the city’s south side.

They said that the first arriving unit found a one story home with fire coming through the roof.

TFD said that they made an aggressive attack and were able to prevent any more damage to the home.

Fire crews on scene searched to home after extinguishing the fire and found no one trapped. They said that the residents were able to escape prior to firefighters arrival.

No injuries were reported and Red Cross was notified for assistance.

Firefighters say that cause of the blaze was electrical and damages are estimated to be $60,000.  

The Tallahassee Fire Department was assisted by TPD and LCEMS and city utilities.
