MADISON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The Florida Highway Patrol says that ants in an 85-year-old man's car led to a rollover crash on I-10 WB.

Troopers say that on Sept. 20, a Tampa man was driving westbound on I-10 (near mile marker 241) when ants began biting at his legs.

He told them troopers that before getting on I-10, his car had been stored in Tampa during Hurricane Irma. He told them there was food inside the car when it was stored, causing the ants.

However, the man didn't notice that there were ants on the floorboard so when they began biting at him, the man lost control of the car and ran off the road.

When the driver tried to get his car back on the road, he over-corrected, causing the car to overturn.

Troopers say that the man suffered minor injuries and was hospitalized in the Madison County Hospital.

FHP is not pressing charges in the accident.
