TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - Residents are hoping to brighten the holidays for many local seniors.
The Elder Elf program, ran by Elder Care Services, allows residents to adopt one of their seniors, to give seniors the basic items they need, along with wish list items that can bring joy to the holiday season.
Ed Gines, Senior Solutions Specialist with Elder Care Services, says many seniors on a very low fixed income have nothing to spare to celebrate the holidays: "All 96 of our clients lists have been adopted so we're really happy about that Tallahassee and the Greater Leon County. It's a beautiful community. People recognize the need, and they help and they really go above and beyond to fill our clients lists with the different items."
