TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -Throughout the year, Elder Care Services helps thousands of seniors with the basics a nutritious meal, personal care, and crisis resolution.
So celebrating the holidays with any fanfare is a luxury many seniors on very low fixed incomes, cannot afford.
That's why every year, Elder Care Services hosts "Elder Elf" a program that invites businesses, organizations, and individuals to partner with ECS to "adopt" seniors who are in need of holiday cheer.
Then, members of Elder Care deliver those gift to the seniors.
On Thursday, WTXL tagged along as they delivered gifts to Larry Murray.
"We have a lot of people that don't have and don't have the opportunity to get things like this, so much happening in the world today, its a blessing for all this completely a blessing," said local president, Larry Murray.
Larry is one of dozens of big bend seniors who received Christmas gifts from the Elder Elf Program.
