TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Big Bend honored those who serve the community Tuesday morning.
Hartsfield Elementary held a volunteer appreciation breakfast on Tuesday. The hour-long event allowed 'bigs' to come and eat with their 'littles'.
The speakers at the event included Hartsfield Elementary's principal, who talked about the importance of the organization and the impact it has on the children.
The event was also a time to celebrate the life of volunteer Edward Neuse who died earlier this year.
Volunteers say he was a big part of the organization and spent time mentoring kids at the school.
Neuse's death has been ruled a suicide.
