VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - Early voting is expanding ahead of the May 20, 2014 primary. In addition to this week, Georgians will also be able to cast their ballots this Saturday.

It's part of Secretary of State Brian Kemp's push to get as many Georgians to the polls as possible, before early voting closes on May 16, in hopes of cutting down on long lines on May 20.

In Lowndes County, early voting will take place this week, May 5-9, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Elections Office, 2808 N. Oak Street. For those who can't make it during the week, early voting will also be available Saturday, May 10, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call the Board of Elections at (229) 671-2850.

Voters can get information about polling places and view personalized sample ballots by heading to the Georgia Secretary of State's "My Voter Page", http://mvp.sos.state.ga.us/.
