BLAKELY, GA (WALB) - County leaders Early County are keeping an eye on the flood watch, preparing for the worst.
The county's EMA Director has been watching the weather closely since Thursday in preparation for the storm.
Officials said they're anticipating flooding for streets and homes near rivers in the county.
If things get bad, they will open up a comfort station at a local gym.
"We are making sure Early County residents stay safe and secure. We're contacting the first responders, they're on high alert, along with our e911, our fire department, our sheriff department along with our road superintendent Greg Weathersby and of course our road service. We want to make sure Early County is safe and they're aware," said Commissioner Jeffery Haynes, District 2, Early County.
Throughout the night, officials are urging people to stay off the roads and listen to your weather radios.
