ATLANTA, Ga. -- It's every parent's worst nightmare: The death of their child. For Amber and Tim Shoemake, that fear became a reality when their 6-year-old son Leland passed away on Fri., Sept 25, after battling Balamuthia mandrillaris, an amoebic infection in his brain.

Though he was gone, Leland had one more beautiful, heartbreaking surprised left for his parents. According to a post on the Prayers for Leland Facebook page, upon returning home Amber and Tim discovered a goodbye note written by their dying child.

"When Tim and I came home for the first time to get him clothes to be buried in, this is the note we found from him on the table in the living room," Amber wrote on the page

The note reads: "Still with you Thank you Mom & Dad Love Good Bye."

The post has generated an outpouring of emotions on the page, and is now going viral online.

Amber's post concludes: ""We have no idea when he wrote it but you can tell he was always a special child. We will love you forever Leland. Sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite!"
