TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - One of two planned DUI checkpoints on FSU's campus Thursday night did not occur when a bus broke down in the middle of the road and blocked traffic.

The canceled checkpoint was to have taken place in the 500 block of College Avenue from 11:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. A Seven Rivers Christian School bus broke down, FSU police said, prompting the calling off of the checkpoint for safety reasons.

Florida State University police officers did conduct their first checkpoint on the campus in the 800 block of West Jefferson Street from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Officers also conducted a DUI saturation patrol around FSU's campus until 3 a.m. Friday.
