VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL)--A commercial dryer in a laundry room catches fire at nursing home in Valdosta.
Valdosta firefighters were called to Pruitt Health at Crestwood on Pendleton Place Sunday. The laundry room fire was extinguished by the sprinkler system. Crews helped with the evacuation and water removal.
More than a dozen firefighters responded. Firefighters say laundry overheated inside the dryer. Damages are estimated at $1,500.
