THOMAS COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - Thomas County drug agents say getting guns off the streets and out of the hands of convicted felons is a top priority.
Five guns were recovered last month during arrests.
Drug squad agents say, it usually results in more charges if the person is in possession of a firearm while committing a felony, or is a convicted felon.
Agents say its becoming more common to find guns during drug arrests.
"That's always good to get guns off the streets before they are used for any kind of illicit manor or on accident, getting in the wrong hands," said Drug Squad Commander Louis Schofill.
In April, two cars and more than $1,500 in cash were seized during arrests.
