TALLAHASSEE, FL. (WTXL) - It's Drowsy Driving Prevention Week and the Florida Department of Transportation wants to make sure motorists are not tired when getting behind the wheel.
According to FDOT, the state had 14 fatalities in 2014 related to drowsy driving.
They are urging you to stay alert on the roads, and use welcome centers, service plazas and rest areas when you need a break from driving.
FDOT says, you should avoid driving at times you'd normally be asleep, read the warning information on all medicines you take, and make sure to stop every 2 hours on a long trip.
