TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Two students received treatment for injuries Thursday morning after a car hit the back of a bus transporting Godby High School students.

The Florida Highway Patrol says that on Thursday around 6:25 a.m., a red Ford Edge driven by Phobe Heirs, 57, was traveling east on State Road 20 (Blountstown Hwy) in the eastbound lane.

A school bus occupied by five children was driving in front of Heirs at the time.

Troopers say that when the bus slowed down at Stoutamire Road to make a stop to pick up kids, Heirs failed to stop and hit the back of the school bus.

A total of seven students were on the bus at the time of the crash.

Two children were transported to the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital though troopers say, one of the two children was not on the bus when the crash occurred.

FHP says Heirs was also transported to a hospital.

A replacement bus was brought in to finish the route.
