ATLANTA (WTXL) - Fifty-four years ago today Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his "I Have a Dream" speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.

"I have a dream...this nation will rise up live out the true meaning of this dream," he said. "We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal."

Today Georgia's Gov. Nathan Deal will be joined by members of the King family to unveil the King statue at the Georgia State Capitol.

The ceremony takes place at 10 o'clock this morning and is open to the public. Seating will be available on a first-come basis.

The statue will be placed at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Capitol Avenue in Atlanta.
