TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - It was a packed house at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church Saturday.
Dozens gathered to celebrate the life of former Tallahassee NAACP President Robert Lee Travis Jr.
NAACP members say Travis will be remembered as a leader who cared for all people.
"A great leader with strong character. I would think knowing Bob he would want to be remembered as a great and compassionate leader to helping the distraught live better lives," said Wilson Barnes, member of the Tallahassee NAACP.
On top of his work with the NAACP, Travis was a distinguished lawyer with a long-list of career accomplishments.
