Downtown Orlando is Giving Car-Sharing Another Ride

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Downtown Orlando is giving car-sharing another ride.

Officials with the city of Orlando, as well as neighboring Winter Park, said Wednesday that several new Zipcar car-sharing stations will open up in the metro area.

There will be six Zipcars in downtown Orlando, two in Winter Park and four in the Disney World area.

Zipcar users can rent vehicles by the hour or day. By subscribing to the service, users get a card that allows them to unlock the vehicles they intend to use.

Hertz previously had a car-sharing program in downtown Orlando, but the company pulled its cars last year.

Zipcar has operated around the University of Central Florida for several years.
