GADSDEN CO., Fla. (WTXL) - On Saturday, September 12, 2015, the Havana Stage Management Group (HSMG) will host a donation drive for the purchase of a K-9 for the Havana Police Department.
The event, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Havana's stage/fountain on 7th Avenue West, will feature live music, food, a raffle and a 50/50 drawing.
The donation drive comes after the police department lost its first K-9 dog, Nala on July 1, 2015 to cancer. They say Nala was responsible for hundreds of drug arrests, and they want to get another trained K-9 that will not only be a drug-alert dog but a tracking K-9 as well to help find lost children and the elderly.
