DONALSONVILLE, Ga. (WTXL)--A new education center has opened its doors in Donalsonville. It's in the same place fire ripped through the city five years ago, burning nine buildings.
Mayor Dan Ponder says the eye sore is now gone with the Donalsonville Education Center opening in its place. The fire happened in 2011, but the work to bring higher education to the small town goes back to 2007.
Classes begin this summer. Registration started earlier this month.
The building is located on Cherry street.
