TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Dozens of survivors of domestic violence shared their stories and gathered for a candlelight vigil to show their support and remembrance of people affected.
The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence says that, on average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States.
In one year, this equates to more than 10 million women and men.
On Tuesday, the Refuge House in Tallahassee held a in candlelight vigil.
Survivors shared their stories as they work to end violence.
The Refuge House provides support and resources to all people affected by domestic violence and sexual assault across the eight counties of the Big Bend.
