(WTXL) - Dollar General is looking to put a store in a vacant historic building in downtown Bainbridge, Ga.
Teramore Development has proposed the plan to the Historic Preservation Commission
The company proposed relocating it's store on West Street to the Old Bainbridge Hardware Store on Broad Street.
City leaders are hoping to get input on the potential new store later this month.
The public hearing is scheduled for August 22 at 6 p.m.
In Tift County, commissioners are considering a request to rezone nearly two acres of land at the intersection of Highway 319 and Mount Olive Church Road.
That's where developers want to build a 7,500 square-foot Dollar General.
Some residents say they're concerned any commercial business in that spot will bring more traffic to what they say is already a dangerous intersection.
