TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - Five Labrador Retrievers are working to keep invasive species out of Florida, one paw at a time.
Audi, Bear, Kojak, Sierra, Verde and their handlers work for the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services to locate invasive pests and diseases.
The five dogs do a variety of tasks for the department, from detecting giant African land snails to patrolling parcel facilities looking for unauthorized plant material and invasive pests and disease.
The Department says each of the dogs is integral to the process of finding and containing threats to the state's agriculture industry.
