Brooks County, Ga. (WTXL)--A Brooks County man is facing several animal cruelty charges after animal control officials seize more than 70 dogs from his property.
Authorities in Brooks County said they've never experience an animal hoarding case this severe.
Jerry McCloud was taken into custody last week.
He says he thought he was taking good care of the animals but officials say the dogs were malnourished and diseased.
The 78-year-old is charged with animal cruelty and animals running at large.
The dogs have been turned over to the Thomas County Humane Society who say since they're helping a neighboring county, they haven't budgeted to provide care for this many additional dogs.
They're in need of donations and some extra helping hands.
