THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL) - Thomasville officials have witnessed multiple car accidents, some even resulting in fatalities, over the past few weeks, and that has law enforcement alarmed.
Within the last couple of days, two people have died from car accidents. Thomas County Sheriff's Office Captain Steve Jones stresses the importance of keeping your eyes on the road at all times.
Jones says it ultimately comes down to the drivers, and even Wednesday, while he was off-duty he says many were driving recklessly.
"I watched the light cycle, and I watched the vehicles when it's yellow going through, when it turns red going through," said Captain Jones. "They're just in too big of hurry to sit for three minutes if that long, at an intersection. Instead, they risk hurting themselves, hurting others, and tearing up their cars. It's not worth it, it's senseless."
Try to scan down the road while you drive, so you can be better prepared to adjust to your environment.
And, try to leave early so you aren't in a rush while driving.
