ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Disney officials have pulled an Epcot-themed Starbucks mug from the shelves because it included the purple-striped monorail which was retired after a crash between two trains killed an employee.
The Orlando Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1Bzt2Zz ) reports the Starbucks mug is part of the "You Are Here" series that features key element of the theme park, including Spaceship Earth and the World Showcase pavilions. Shades of gray, blue and purple make up the general color scheme of the mug's graphics.
In July 2009 the pink monorail backed into the purple monorail killing 21-year-old Austin Wuennenberg, who was piloting the train.
A Disney spokesman says a new version of the mug that doesn't include the purple monorail will eventually be available.
