TALLAHASSEE, FL (#WTXLDigital) - Remember the iPod Classic? The device debuted as the iPod Video in 2005. With Apple releasing the iPhone 6 earlier this year, this may be seen as some ancient artifact now, but the iPod Classic is selling for prices several times higher than its original cost.

The Huffington Post says that iPod Classics are selling for as much as $900 now. It seems that people still want those bulky music players over the slim and sleek new devices.

Apple discontinued the iPod Classics in the fall, but Business Insider says that three thousand of these old iPods have been sold on eBay since.

Amazon listed iPod Classics that were selling for several prices ranging from $700 to $900.

In 2008, the 5th generation 120 GB iPod Classic only retailed for $249 - that's much cheaper than today's iPhone.

It may be the amount of storage one can get on an iPod. 120 GB is a lot of music - more than any iPhone could give you. Could music enthusiasts be the ones behind the demand that led to the boost in these prices?

So, if you still have that old iPod, it seems like it was literally worth keeping around.
