Tallahassee, Fla. (WTXL)--Another voting message ahead of this year's elections.
Disability Rights Florida are urging people with disabilities to vote through the Access The Vote campaign.
The campaign is just how it sounds; all about access. Disability Rights Florida teamed up with the Leon County Elections office to discuss their push on Tuesday.
The overall goal of the campaign is to engage more Floridians with disabilities in the voting process by developing useful resources to educate the public. That's where the newly launched website "Access the Vote" comes into play.
It's divided into two sections "not registered to vote" and "registered voters". The reason behind that is so that there's customized information for each audience.
The website also allows those with disabilities the opportunity to easily access the information that they need to get to the polls.
Those behind the push says this is important because persons with disabilities deserve to have a voice in the upcoming election.
