TIFTON, Ga. (WTXL)- A Tifton woman is honored today for her role in rescuing more than 140 dogs from dog fighting after a 4 year long investigation in Georgia.
The Humane Society of the United States presented the 2014 Humane Law Enforcement Awards to 9 people today, including Regenia Wells, the director of Tift County Animal Control for their roles in the case.
Thanks to the efforts of Wells and the others given the award, 7 people were arrested in connection to the "229 Boys Kennel Club Inc." who bred, purchased, sold, and trained American Pitbull terriers for the purpose of dogfight gambling.
