TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - One of the biggest development projects in recent Tallahassee history is finally picking up again.

WTXL ABC 27's Jada Williams was live Wednesday morning to share details about the project, especially how it will impact traffic.

Shawn McIntyre will provide an update on The Cascades Project since purchasing the two-block parcel bordering Cascades Park in October of this year.

The Cascades Project – Tallahassee's largest economic development initiative in recent history – will bring a vibrant live-work-play experience to a two-block area on East Gaines Street, directly across from Cascades Park.

In addition to generating more than $350 million in economic impact and creating nearly 700 permanent jobs, this transformative urban development will honor our rich history through the preservation of the architecturally significant former County Health Unit and the creation of a community-envisioned historical plaza.

Barney Bishop says that is all a move to make downtown Tallahassee an 18-hour destination.

If you want to hear more about what's coming to Cascades Park and how it'll impact your trips to the park in the near future, you can hear from the developer at 8:30 a.m.
