TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- The Destiny Center in Tallahassee is hosting a Dialogue on Race this weekend and want you to take part.

The event, now in its second year, was inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and his idea of opening of doors for positivity.

It's a way to promote peace and unity among all races "through honest, open and positive dialogue."

Local pastors and community activists of all races were invited as panelists, and community members in the audience are a major part of the conversation.

Organizers say it's for people, no matter their race, to meet up, talk and offer solutions to issues. Coming together in this way helps people understand others, and even if they still disagree, see things from their point of view.

Destiny Center's Pastor Clarence Jackson will moderate the discussion, and encourage engagement from everyone who's taking part.

The Dialogue on Race is Saturday, February 20 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the TCC Turner Auditorium (444 Appleyard Drive).

It's free and all are invited.
