(WTXL) - Florida republican gubernatorial nominee Ron DeSantis has reportedly picked his running mate.
According to the Miami Herald, he's selected Rep. Jeanette Nunez of Miami for his lieutenant governor.
The 46-year-old wife and mother of three was first elected to the Statehouse in 2010 and is the vice chair of the appropriations committee.
If she and DeSantis are elected in November, she would be the first Cuban-American woman to serve as the state's second in command.
DeSantis has not formally made the announcement. Nor has he posted anything on social media.
Meanwhile, Democratic nominee Andrew Gillum tweeted at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday that he's going to be announcing his pick for lieutenant governor Thursday at 10 a.m. live on Facebook.
According to the State Division of Elections, both DeSantis and Gillum have to turn in qualifying documents by no later than 5 p.m. Thursday.
