BAY CO., Fla. (WTXL) - A deputy in the panhandle is accused of molesting a child in both Florida and Georgia, after an 11 year old tells authorities he was touched inappropriately.
According to the affidavit from Bay County Florida, David Mudge is charged with two counts of lewd or lascivious molestation of a child less than 12 years of age.
It states that during a child protection team interview, the victim told them on two occasions he woke up to an uncomfortable encounter with Mudge.
The affidavit follows up by stating that Mudge admitted to a third incident, which happened in Valdosta, when they were on vacation, where the child awoke to find Mudge performing oral sexual acts on him.
Mudge was employed by the Bay County Sheriff's Department as a law enforcement officer since November 2014.
