LEON COUNTY, FL (WTXL) - The Leon County Sheriff's Office is teaming up with the refuge house in Tallahassee to put an end to domestic violence in the Big Bend.

LCSO announced a partnership with the Refuge House, implementing the "Invest" program.

The program was created specifically to reduce and prevent domestic violence homicides in the state, specifically in 11 communities with the highest rates of these incidences.

Sheriff Mike Wood says deputies at LCSO will receive training from the Refuge House to make the Sheriff's Office better equipped to deal with domestic violence cases and that he says he hopes the program will help decrease domestic violence in Leon County.
