TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A 55-year-old man has been arrested after pulling a knife at a bus stop near the Kearney Center and demanding $5 from the victim.

The Leon County Sheriff's Office says that Edwin Malave, 55, was arrested for armed robbery and aggravated assault.

Deputies say the incident happened while several members from law enforcement agencies were attending a Crisis Intervention Team training at the sheriff's office  this week.

During the training, attendees took a field trip to the Kearney Center. While they were there, however, a witness told them about a disturbance at the bus stop.

When deputies went to check it out, they saw Malave threatening a victim with a knife in his hand. Deputies quickly detained Malave and took him into custody.

The victim told deputies that as he was leaving the center, Malave pulled a knife on him and demanded $5.

He was taken to jail without incident.
