TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Hundreds of children across the country are having to spend this Christmas in the hospital, but they won't be there alone.
Officials with Leon County Sheriff's Office hoped to brighten the day of some of those kids.
Deputies went to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital Thursday looking to spread some holiday cheer.
The group of law enforcement officers handed out teddy bears to the children in Tallahassee Memorial's Pediatric emergency room.
The hope, they say, was to help the families stuck in the hospital smile.
"This is something that we are excited to have a chance to give back. Spread some holiday cheer and put some smiles on faces of children and families who unfortunately stuck here during the holiday season," said Melissa Musgrove, who's the victim advocate for Leon County Sheriff's Office.
LSCO is scheduled to head to Capital Regional Medical Center, tomorrow.
